Answer:

(B + C)'s 1 day's work=(1/9+1/12)= 7/36

Work done by B and C in 3 days=(7/36×3)=7/12

Remaining work=(1−7/12)=5/12

Now,124 work is done by A in 1 day

So,512 work is done by A in

(24×5/12)=10days

A can finish a piece of work in 24 days.

Work done by A in one day = 1/24

Similarly, B and C finish the work in 9 and 12 days respectively.

So, work dkne by B and C in one day = 1/9 and 1/12.

According to question,

Both B and C start the work but leave after 3 days.

So, work done by both B and C = 1/9 + 1/12

=> (4 + 3)/36

=> 7/36

In one day both B and C together complete the work in 7/36 days.

So, work done by B and C in 3 days = 7/36 × 3

=> 7/12

Remaining work done = 1 - 7/12

=> (12 - 7)/12

=> 5/12

We have to find the remaining work done by A.

A alone finish the work in 24 days.

And the remaining work is 5/12.

So, work done by A in 24 days = 5/12 × 24

=> 5 × 2

=> 10 days

In 10 days A do the remaining work.
