Answer: 8/9 days

A can do it in 8 days so then

B = 8/3 days & C = 8 /5 days

total work = LCM (8, 8/3,8/5) = 8 units

their Efficiencies,

A =8/8 =1 units/day similarly B =3 u /day & C = 5 u/day

together they can do it in

8/(1+3+5) = 8/9 days

Note: LCM of fraction = LCM of numerators /HCF of denominators

Given :

  • A can have a piece of work done in 8 days

  • B can work 3 times faster than A

  • C can work 5 times faster than A.

To find :

  • Number of days will they take to do work together =?

Step-by-step explanation :

It is Given that :

A can do a work = 8 days

So, B can do a work = 8/3 ( because B is 3 times faster than A)

And, C can do a work = 8/5 ( because C is 5 times faster than A)

Question is asking If A,B and C works together in how many days they will complete that work.

So,

LCM of numerator = 8 unit's

Now,

A's work = 1 unit/day

B's work = 3 unit /day

C's work = 5 unit/day

Now,

Total work do together = 8/(1 + 3 + 5) = 8/9

Therefore, Number of days will they take to do work together = 8/9 days .
