Given  : a can of milk is 12 cm tall and its base has a radius of 4 cm.

To Find : how much tin material is needed to make the can

Solution:

A can of milk is 12 cm tall and its base has a radius of 4 cm.

Its cylindrical

To Find  tin material needed to make the can  , we need to find Total surface area  ( TSA)

TSA of cylinder  = 2πr(r + h )

r = 4 cm

h = 12 cm

π  = 3.14

TSA of cylinder    = 2 * 3.14 * 4 ( 4 + 12)

= 401.92 cm²

material is needed to make the can = 401.92 cm²
