3x/4-12=5x/12
3x/4 -5x/12=12
(9x-5x)/12=12
4x=144
x=36ltr is capacity
3x/4 -5x/12=12
(9x-5x)/12=12
4x=144
x=36ltr is capacity

let the capacity of the can be x....
thus,
initially the colume of milk = 3x/4
volume of milk drawn out = 12 ltr
final volume of milk = 5x/12
a/q,
.
9x-5x=144
4x=144
x=144/4
