a) Contact inhibition is the property of normal cells that prevents the uncontrolled growth of cell once they come in contact with other neighbouring cells. Cancer cells are those cells which have lost the property of contact inhibition and thus divides continuously and produces a mass of cells called as the tumor. Metastasis is the property of malignant tumors. Malignant tumor grows rapidly and infects the neighbouring tissues and thus spreads the other organs also.

b) Proto-oncogenes have been identified in normal cells which could lead to cancer when gets activated due to the presence of carcinogens.

c) Techniques like radiography and computer tomography are very useful to detect cancers of internal organs.

(d) Alpha Interferon. ... Interferons can help cells to defend themselves against viral infection and are used in the treatment of some cancers to boost the body's ability to eliminate cancer cells.
