(35 + 50 + x) \div 3 = 45 \\ 85 + \frac{x}{3} = 45 \\ 45 \times 3 = 85 + x \\ 135 = 85 + x \\ 135 - 85 = x \\ 50

First of all,

A candidate has to secure 45% out of 300 marks.

Total marks of candidate secure=(300×45)÷100

=135 marks

He got in first paper=(100×35%)=35 marks

He got in second paper=(100×50%)=50 marks.

Then,

He got in third paper=135-(35+50)

=135-85

=50 marks

I hope this answer will help you...
