a candidate scored 25% marks in an examination and failed by 30 marks while another candidate who scored 50% marks got 20 marks more than the minimum marks find the maximum marks and minimum pass marks​

We can let 25% as = 1/4*x and 30 more marks to pass
x/4+30
And marks scored by the other candidate 50%,we can write it as
1/2*x and he secured 20 marks more than the passing marks
So the equation forms here like this
x/4+30 = x/2-20
The value of x = 200 which are the max marks
Now the min marks are x/4+30
200/4+30
The minimum marks to pass are 80
