The second student gets 320 marks and fails by 30 marks
So the passing marks is 320+30=350
First student gets 30% of total and fails by 50 marks
So marks he gets = 350-50=300
Let the total marks be x
30% of x = 300
x= (300 X 100) divided by 30=1000
Therefore, 1000 is the total marks
