a candidate who scare 36% marks in the examination cell by 24 marks but other candidate who get 43 market 18 more marks than the minimum pass mark find the maximum mark in the percentage of the pass mark

Let the total marks be x.

marks scored by first candidate=36% of x

marks scored by second candidate=43% of x.

according to the question a candidate who scored 36% marks in the examination fells by 24 marks but other candidate who get 43% marks scored 18 more marks than the minimum pass mark,

therefore,

36/100x+24=43/100x-18

24+18=43x-36x/100

42=7x/100

x=42*100/7

x=600

total marks=600

minimum pass marks=36/100*600+24=240

pass %=240/600*100=40%
