As we have mirrors formula;1/f=1/v+1/u in which terms have their usual meaning.

Here,they gave..f=20(-ve) u=30(-ve),v=?

(Sign convention as it is concave mirror)

Substitute the values in above formula,

1/-20=1/-30+1/v

1/v=1/30–1/20

v=20*30/20–30

v=-60cm.(image length)

Now magnification for a mirror is ratio of image length and object length with (-ve) sign,

m=-v/u

m=-(-60)/(-30) =-2

Hence,image is magnified 2 times,real image and inverted.
