Solution!!

The concept of unitary method has to be used here. It is given in the question that a canteen requires 42 dozen eggs each week. According to the question, we are asked to find the number of eggs which will be required for 70 days.

1 week = 42 dozen eggs

Now, as we can see the units of time are different. One is week and the other is day. So, we have to convert days into weeks. We know that,

1 day = 1/7 week

70 days = 1/7 × 70 weeks

70 days = 10 weeks

So,

10 weeks = 42 × 10 dozen eggs

10 weeks = 420 dozen eggs

Hence, the canteen will require 420 dozen eggs for 70 days.

(Note → 1 dozen = 12)
