The heat produced means the energy is not dependent on the resistance so (U=1/2 cv^2) which is equals to U = 1/2 (200*10^-6)(200*200) = 4Joule. So in both case the heat produced will be 4 joule. Hope u r satisfied with this answer.....

Given that,

Capacitance, C=2\ \mu F=2\times 10^{-6}\ F

Potential difference, V = 200 V

Let the capacitor discharge separately through resistance of 2 ohms and 8 ohms,

To find,

The heat produced in resistance the resistance.

Solution,

The heat produced doesn't depends upon value of resistance. For a capacitor, heat produced is given by :

H=\dfrac{1}{2}CV^2\\\\H=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 2\times 10^{-6}\times (200)^2\\\\H=0.04\ J

So, the the heat produced in resistance is 0.04 J.
