Given info : A capacitor of 50 μF is connected to a supply of 220 volts and angular frequency of 50 rad/s.

To find : the value of rms current in the circuit is ..

solution : capacitance of the capacitor, C = 50μF

potential difference, V = 220 volts

and angular frequency, ω = 50 rad/s

capacitive reactance, X_C=\frac{1}{\omega C} = \frac{1}{50 rad/s\times50\times10^{-6}F} = 400Ω

we know, the rms curren in the circuit , i_{rms}=\frac{V_{rms}}{X_C}

= 220 volts/400Ω

= 0.55 A

therefore the rms current in the circuit is 0.55A. so the correct option is (c)0.55A
