Height of capsule

= Height of cylinder + 2×radius of hemisphere

Height of cylinder

= Height of capsule - 2×radius of hemisphere

= 16 - 12 = 4cm

Therefore the total volume of the capsule

= volume of cylinder + 2×volume of hemisphere

Volume of cylinder = πr²h = 3.14 × 6² × 4 = 452.16cm³

2×Volume of hemisphere = 2 × ⅔πr³ = 4/3πr³

= 4/3 × 3.14 × 6³

= 904.32cm³

Therefore the total volume of the capsule

= volume of cylinder + 2×volume of hemisphere

= 452.16 + 904.32 = 1356.48cm³
