A car A of mass 2500 kg, travelling at 20 m/s collides with another car B of mass 1100kg
travelling at 25 m/s in the same direction. After collision, the velocity of car A becomes 10m/s.
Calculate the velocity of car B after collision.( please answer with steps).

Answer:

m1=2500kg

m2=1100kg

u1=20m/s

u2=25m/s

v1=10m/s

Let v2 =v2

Momentum of car A=Momentum of car B

m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2

{ (2500*20) +(1100*25) } ={(2500*10) +(1100*v2) }

(50000 + 27500) =(25000 + 1100v2)

77500 -25000 = 1100v2

v2=52500/1100

v2=47.72m/s
