▪️The increase in velocity is 10 m/s.

▪️The question only asks for “increase” or “change” in velocity and has nothing to do with initial velocity, final velocity, distance covered, etc.

▪️Acceleration is “change of velocity over time”. So, simply

∆v = a•t

∆v = 5 m/s^2 • 2 s = 10 m/s.

▪️The increase in velocity is 10 m/s.

▪️The only assumption is that the stated rate of acceleration is applied “uniformly” during the total 2-second interval.

Hopes it help you✌️✌️
