A car accelerates from 15 m/s to 25 m/s in 5 seconds.

TO FINd

Calculate the acceleration

SOLUTIOn

  • Initial velocity = 15m/s
  • Final velocity = 25m/s
  • time taken = 5s
  • Acceleration = ?

Apply this formula

→ v = u + at

→ 25 = 15 + a × 5

→ 25 - 15 = 5a

→ 5a = 10

→ a = 10/5 = 2 m/s²

Hence, acceleration of a car is 2 m/

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{Given \ :-}}}}

  • Initial Velocity (u) = 15 m/s

  • Final Velocity (v) = 25 m/s

  • Time (t) = 5 seconds

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{To \ Find \ :-}}}}

  • Acceleration (a)

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{Solution\ :-}}}}

We know that,

 \implies \: Acceleration \:  =  \frac{Final \: velocity - Initial \: velocity}{Time \: taken}  \\  \\  \implies \: a \:  =  \frac{v - u}{t}

Put the above given values in it, We get,

 \implies \: a =  \frac{25 - 15}{5}  \\  \\  \implies \:  a =  \frac{10}{5}  \\  \\  \implies \: a = 2 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Hence,

  • Acceleration (a) = 2 m/s²
