The velocity of the car is 12 m/s

GIVEN

A car accelerates from rest at 2 meters per second square.

TO FIND

What is its speed 3 seconds after the car starts moving?

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Acceleration of car = 2m/s²

Time = 3 seconds

Let the final velocity of car be v

Since the car accelerates from rest

Therefore,

The initial velocity of car = 0m/s

Applying First equation of motion,

v = u + at

Putting the values in the above formula we get,

v = 0 + 2×3

v = 6 m/s

Hence, The velocity of the car is 6 m/s
