Answer:

Given,

u=18km/h=60×6018×1000=5m/s

v=36km/h=60×6036×1000=10m/s

t=5sec

acceleration, a=?

1st equation of motion,

v=u+at

10=5+5a

5a=5

a=55=1m/s

The correct option is A.

Given :-

A car accelerates uniformly from 18 km/h to 36 km/h in 5 minutes.

To Find :-

Acceleration

Solution :-

We know that

1 km/h = 5/18 m/s

18 km/h = 18 × 5/18 = 5 m/s

36 km/h = 36 × 5/18 = 2 × 5 = 10 m/s

1 min = 60 s

5 min = 5 × 60 = 300 sec

a = v - u/t

a = 10 - 5/300

a = 5/300

a = 1/6 m/s²

Hence

Acceleration is 1/6 m/s²
