Solution

Given,

  • a car accelerates uniformly from 18km/b to 36km/hr in 5s .

To find ,

  • the acceleration
  • the distance covered by the car in that time

Now ,

we are given here ,

  • U = 18km h^-1 = 5 m s^ -1
  • V = 36 km h^-1 = 10m s ^-1
  • t = 5s

to find the acceleration

We know that

  • to find the solution we have to use the equation a= v-u/t

putting the value in the equation we get ;

=> 10m s^-1 - 5m s^-1 / 5s

=> 5 m s^-1 / 5 s

=> 1 m s^-2

The acceleration is 1 m s^-2

to find the distance covered by the car in that time

  • to find the distance covered by the car we have to use the third equation of motion s=ut+1/2at^2

putting the value in the formula we get ;

=> 5m s^-1 × 5s + 1/2 × 1 m s^-2 × (5s^2)

=> 25m + 12.5 m

=> 375m

the distance covered by the car in that time is 375 m

The acceleration is 1ms^-2 and distance covered is 37•5m .
