Given:-

A car achieves a speed of 40m/s by undergoing uniform acceleration of 5m/s² in 3sec.

To Find:-

Initial speed (u) of the car.

Equation used:-

 {\boxed{\bf{First\: Equation\:of\: Motion: v = u +at}}}

Here,

u = Initial Velocity

v = Final Velocity

a = Acceleration

t = Time

Solution:-

Using, v = u + at

where,

v = 40 m/s

a = 5 m/s²

t = 3 sec

Putting values,

 \sf :\implies\: 40 = u +5\times3: ⟹40=u+5×3

 \sf :\implies\: 40 = u +15: ⟹40=u+15

 \sf :\implies\: u = 40-15: ⟹u=40−15

 \bf :\implies\: u = 25 \:ms^{-1}: ⟹u=25ms

−1

Hence, The Initial Speed of the Car is 25 m/s.
