Answer:

(i) a = 1 m/s²

(ii) s = 50 m

Explanation:

Given that,

A car acquires a velocity of 36 km/h in 10 seconds  starting from rest

Hence,

u = 0 m/s [stars from rest]

v = 36 km/h

Converting km/h to m/s

[divide the speed value by 3.6]

Therefore,

v = 10 m/s

t = 10 seconds

We know that,

Acceleration is rate of change of velocity wrt to time

\implies \sf a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}

By substituting

We get,

\sf a=\dfrac{10-0}{10} \ m/s^2

\implies \sf a=1 \ m/s^2

We should also find Distance travelled in this time

Hence,

Using Equation of Motion,

\sf v^2-u^2=2as

Here,

s = distance

We know that,

v = 10 m/s

u = 0 m/s

a = 1 m/s²

By substituting

We get,

\implies \sf s=\dfrac{10^2-0^2}{2 \times 1} \ m

\implies \sf s=\dfrac{100}{2} \ m

\implies \sf s=50 \ m
