Answer:

a) lorry has greater inertia of motion because it has more mass then any of the car.

b) given in above part

  1. an athelete runs before taking a long jump
  2. we tend to lean forward whena moving vehicle is stopped

a) Lorry has a greater inertia.

b) Inertia depends on mass of the body. Higher mass, higher inertia.

c) When a car stops, man tends to remain in the state of motion as a result of inertial mass and more force is required to move a bus than the force required to move a bicycle.

Explanation:

Newton's first law states:

  • "Any object at rest will remain at rest and any object in motion will stay in motion unless an external force is applied to it. This is also called law of inertia".
  • Inertia is the property of a body to resist any change in its state.
  • Inertia depends on the mass of the body. When mass is large, the tendency to resist change in its state becomes more and so more force will be required for any state change.
  • When a car stops, man tends to remain in the state of motion as a result of inertial mass.   It tends to oppose the change in state of its motion and so he is pushed forward.
  • More force is required to push a bus and less force is required to move a bicycle.
