A car covers a certain distance in 4 hours if it is travelling at a speed of 60km/hr . Howmuch time would it have taken if it were travelling 20km/hr faster

Expert Answer:

We know that speed is a physical quantity which is defined as the ratio of distance upon time.

Therefore,

distance = speed x time

distance = 60 x 4 = 240 km

If the speed was 60 + 20 = 80 km/hr

Then the same distance would have been covered in

time = distance / speed = 240 / 80 = 3 hrs

Thus, if the speed were 80kmph, it would have taken only 3 hours to cover the same distance.
