The increased speed is 12 km/hr

Given data :

Initial speed of the car 60 kilometres per hour.

Initial completion time of the journey is 12 hours.

Necessary time to complete the journey in second time is 10 hours.

• At first we have to calculate the total distance of the journey by using the following mathematical formula :

= Total time × Velocity

= 12×60

= 720 kilometres

• Now,for the second time :

The car has to cover a distance of 720 kilometres in the time of 10 hours.

So,the necessary speed will be =

10 hours = 720 kilometres

1 hours = 720/10 kilometre = 72 kilometres

Increased speed = (New speed - Initial speed = (72-60) = 12 km/hr (answer)
