You can put this solution on YOUR website!
per cent decrease is absolute decrease divided by original amount
the decrease was 20000 Rs.
the original amount was 60000 Rs.
That fraction is 1/3
The per cent decrease is 33 1/3%.
I hope it's going to work

cost price of car = ₹60,000

after 1 year, value of car = ₹40,000

decrease in value = ₹60000 - ₹40000 = ₹20,000

percentage \: decrease = \frac{decrease}{cost \: price} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{20000}{60000} \times 100 \\ \\ = \frac{1}{3} \times 100 \\ \\ = 33.33 \: percent

Percentage decrease in value is 33.33%

winner372: the cars price has gone down to 20000per cent
