Total distance covered = 3454 km

Litres of diesel used = 314 litres

Therefore , 1 km would require (3454÷314 ) 11 litres of diesel.

Distance covered in 375 litres of diesel = 375 × 11 = 4125 km.

Set up a proportion to solve. Let x = distance it will cover in 15.5 litres. Then:

(14.75 km) / (1 litre) = (x km) / (15.5 litres)

(14.75)(15.5) = 1x

228.625 = x

It will cover 228.625 km
