Total distance covered = 85 + 150 = 235km.
Total time taken = 2 + 3 = 5 hours.
Average speed = Total distance/ Total time = 235/5 = 47 km/h.
(point to be noted here is that average speed is NOT (v1+v2)/2)

Answer:

Simple just put this formulae for every single average speed problem.

Explanation:

Average speed = Total Distance / Total Time

= 85+150 = 235km

= 2+3 = 5hrs

Average speed= 235/5 = 47km/hr
