A car covers 30 km at a uniform speed of 60 km/h and the next 30 km at a uniform speed of 40 km/h. Find the total time taken by the car.

D=distance

S=speed

T=time

THEN

D1= 30 KM/HR

S1= 60 KM/HR

T1= 30/60

=1/2 HR

D1=30 KM/HR

S1=40 KM/HR

T1=30/40

=3/4 KM/HR

TOTAL TIME = T1 + T2

= 1/2 + 3/4

= 5/4 HR
