The car will cover 300km in 25 litres of petrol.

  • From common sense, we can tell that a car will cover more distance if more petrol is feeded into it and viceversa.
  • Similarly, in this question also, we can tell that it will run lesser distance as it is feeded lesser petrol. To find this distance, we can use unitary method.

According to the question, in 36L of petrol, the car runs 432 km.

On applying unitary method, in 1 L of petrol, the car can run (432÷36) km = 12km.

So, in 25L of petrol, the car can run (12×25)km = 300km.

Thus it runs 300km.
