Explanation:

1.,.......

t= 40min= 40/60h,

s = v*t= 60*40/60= 40km

2.....,

v= s/t

v= 40/(30/60)

v= 40/(1/2)

v= 40*2

v=80km/h

Given :-

• A car covers a distance in 40 minutes with an average speed of 60 km per hour.

To Find :-

• What's the speed to cover same distance in 30 minutes?

Formula to be used :-

• Distance = Speed × Time

Solution :-

According to the question :-

Given that,

Time = 40 minutes

Speed = 60/hr

Converting 40 minutes into hours :-

( Divide the time value by 60)

Hence,

Time = 2/3 or, 0.6666 hr

Distance = Speed × Time

Put the given values in the formula

⟶ Distance = 60 × 2/3

⟶ Distance = 40 km

As per question, we are asked to find the speed to cover the same distance in 30 minutes.

Therefore,

Time = 30 minutes

Converting 30 minutes into hours :-

(Divide the time value by 60)

Hence, time = 30/60 hr or 0.5 hr

Now, find the speed

We know,

⟶ Speed = Distance /Time

⟶ Speed = 40/0.5

⟼speed \:  = 80km/hr

Hence,

the average speed to cover the same distance in 30 minutes is = 80km/hr.
