Explanation:

given

d1 =16 m

d2=16m

t1=4 s

t2=2s

average speed= total distance /total time

=16+16/2+4

=32/6

= 5.33 m/s

Given :

▪ A car covers first 16m distance in 4s and last 16m distance in 2s.

To Find :

▪ Average speed of the car.

Concept :

⭐ Average speed is defined as the ratio of total distance travelled to the total time taken.

⭐ It is a scalar quantity.

⭐ It has only magnitude.

⭐ It can't be negative or zero.

⭐ SI unit : m/s

Calculation :

\dashrightarrow\sf\:v_{av}=\dfrac{Distance\:travelled}{Time\:taken}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow\sf\:v_{av}=\dfrac{16+16}{4+2}=\dfrac{32}{6}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow\underline{\boxed{\bf{\green{v_{av}=5.33\:ms^{-1}}}}}\:\orange{\bigstar}
