Answer :-

  • The average speed of the car is 70km/h.

Step-by-step explanation ::

To Find :-

  • The average speed of the car

Solution :

Given that,

  • Distance ( d₁ ) covered by car = 300km
  • Speed of the car = 60km/h

Therefore, Time ( t₁ ) taken by the car is

Distance ÷ Speed

➟ 300 ÷ 60

➟ 5

The time taken ( t₁ ) is 5 hours.

Then,

  • Distance ( d₂ ) covered by car = 450km
  • Speed of the car = 90km/h

Therefore, Time ( t₂ ) taken by the car is,

➟ Distance ÷ Speed

➟ 450 ÷ 90

➟ 5

The time taken ( t₂ ) is 5 hours.

According the question,

The average speed of the car is,

As we know that,

Average speed = Total distance ÷ Total time,

➟ ( d₁ + d ) ÷ ( t₁ + t₂ )

➟ ( 300 + 450 ) ÷ ( 5 + 5 )

➟ 750 ÷ ( 5 + 5 )

➟ 750 ÷ 10

➟ 70

The average speed of the car is 70km/h.
