Answer:

3.4

Explanation:

Given :

  • Distance travelled by car = 450 metres

  • Time taken by the car = 1 minute = 60 seconds

  • Distance travelled by the train = 69 km = 69000 metres

  • Time taken by the train = 45 minutes = 2700 seconds

To find :

  • Ratio of their speeds

Speed = distance / time

Speed of car = 450/60

Speed of the car = 7.5 m/s

Speed of train = distance / time

Speed of train = 69000/2700

Speed of train = 25.5 m/s

The speed of the car is 7.5 m/s and the speed of the train is 25.5 m/s

Ratio = 25.5/7.5

Ratio = 3.4

The ratio of speed of car to train is equal to 3.4

Given:

  • A car covers 450m in 1min
  • Train covers 69km in 45min

To find:

  • Ratio of there speeds

Solution:

★ conversion

1 min = 60s

45min = 2700 s

Speed of car = distance/time

Speed = 450/60

Speed = 7.5 m/s. ( i )

Speed of train = 69000/2700

Speed of train = 25.5. ( ii )

Now , eq 1 : 2

car : train = 7.5 : 25.5

Speed of car : speed of train = 3:4
