Answer:

Overall loss = Rs. 2250

Step-by-step explanation:

A dealer sold one car at a profit of 25%

Purchase price for that car, let's say P1 : 45,000 = P × 1.25

⇒ P1 = 36,000

Profit = Selling price − Purchase price

         = 45,000 − 36,000

         = Rs. 9,000

A dealer sold another car at a loss of 20%

Purchase price for that car, let's say P2, again for $45,000

P2 × 0.8 = 45,000

⇒ P2 = 56250

Loss = Purchase price − Selling price

        = 56,250 − 45,000 = Rs. 11250

Overall loss : 11250 - 9,000

                    = Rs. 2250
