Explanation:

Initial velocity (U) = 100 km/hr = 100 × 5/18 = 500/18 = 27.7m s-1

           Final velocity (V) = 60 km/hr = 60 × 5/18 = 300/18 = 16.6m s-1

Acceleration a = (V - U) / t

                       = (16.6 - 22.7)/5

                       = -6.1/5

                       = -1.22 ms-2
