Speed taken to go town A to town B=40 km/hr
Speed of car from going station B to A=60 km/hr.
Let the distance be x km.
Then the time will be distance /speed.
For A to B, Time taken=x/40.(t 1)
For B to A, Time taken=x/60.(t 2)
Total time =t 1 + t 2
=>x/40 + x/60 =( 3x + 2x)/120
-> 5x/120 = x/24
Average speed = Total distance / Total time
2x/x/24 =48 km /hr.
ANSWER = 48 km /hr.

samaira1112: This is the right answer
AFridiiiKhaaannn: correct
AFridiiiKhaaannn: A body whose speed is constant not must be accelerated but might be accelerated .Why?
samaira1112: A body whose speed is constant might be accelerated if we change the direction
AFridiiiKhaaannn: Okay

Answer:

48km/hr

Explanation:

Average Speed is 48 Kmph

Lets take the distance between the station A & B is 120 Km.

Speed for travelling from station A to B is 40 Kmph so it takes 3 Hrs to reach.

Speed for travelling from station B to A is 60 Kmph so it takes 2 Hrs to return.

Now,

Total distance travelled is 240 Km

Total travelling time is 5 Hrs

Average speed =total Distance travelled / total time taken

= 240/5

= 48 Km/Hr
