A car got in a wreck, when the Police asked how fast the driver was driving before he hit the brakes, he said 60 km/h(16.7m/s). How long should the skid marks be; assuming that the car can accelerate at -10. m/s2 (about the maximum for dry pavement). They have a witness that said it took him 0.59 seconds to stop.
