ANSWER :

Mass of the car = 710 kg

Time taken to travel 40m = 3s

It is given that the car travels 40m in 3s starting from rest.

=> Initial Velocity ( u ) = 0

=> Final Velocity = 40 m/s

3

Force = Mass x Acceleration

=> F = m x a

But we know that acceleration = v-u

t

=> F = m( v - u )/t

=> F = 710 ( 40/3 - 0)/3

=> F = 710 x 40/9

=> F = 3155.55 N

Therefore, the magnitude of force acting on the car is 3155.55 N

Hope this helps you
