✯Question✯

  • A car initially at rest starts moving with a constant acceleration of 0.5m/s and travels a distance of 25m. Find the velocity and time taken?

✬Given✬

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0m/s
  • Acceleration (a) = 0.5m/s
  • Distance travelled (S) = 25m

☆To find☆

  • Final velocity (v)
  • Time taken (t)

✮Solution✮

  • From equation of motion:
  • v² = u² + 2as
  • v² = (0)² + 2(0.5)(25)
  • v² = 25
  • v = √25
  • v = 5m/s

➺Final Velocity (v) = 5m/s

  • From equation of motion:
  • v = u + at
  • 5 = 0 + 0.5(t)
  • t = 5 ÷ 0.5
  • t = 10s

➺Time taken (t) = 10s

Answer:

Explanation:

u= 0

a= 0.5 m/s

s= 25m

v=?  t=?

v^{2} \\ - u^{2} = 2as

v^{2} = 2as + u^{2}

v^{2} = 2as + 0

v^{2} = 2* 0.5 * 25

v^{2} = 25

v= 5m/s

t= \frac{v-u}{a}

t= 5-0/ 0.5

t= 5/0.5

t= 10s
