a car initially at Rest to given a uniform acceleration of 0.5 m/S2 for 20 sec .then the car moves in uniform acceleration for 20 sec . the brakes are then applied and brought to rest in 10 sec and brought to rest . find the total distance covered

Explanation:u=10 t1=20 t2=10 a=0.5m/s^2

S=ut+1/2at^2

=10×20+1/2×0.5×10^2

=200+100

=300m

Stopping so retardation

V=u+at

0=10+a×10

a=-1m/s^2

V^2=u^2+2as

0=100+2×-1×s

S=50m

Total=350m
