A car is 5.0 m away from you while moving away from you at a constant velocity of 15 m/s. It then accelerates at a rate of 5 m/s squared. How far away from you is the car after 6 seconds?

Given :-

  • A car is 5m away from me

  • Initial Velocity of Car = 15m/s

  • Acceleration = 5m/s²

  • Time taken = 6s.

To Find :-

  • Distance travelled by car in that 6 Second.

Formulae used:-

  • S = ut + ½ × a × t²

Where,

  • S = Distance
  • u = Initial Velocity
  • a = Acceleration
  • t = Time.

Now,

→ S = ut + ½ × a × t²

→ S = (15) (6) + ½ × 5 × (6)²

→ S = 90 + ½ × 5 × 36

→ S = 90 + 5 × 18

→ S = 90 + 90

→ S = 180

Thus, The Distance Covered by Car is 180m.

→ Actual Distance from me = Distance Covered + 5m

→ Actual Distance from me = 180 + 5 = 185m.

Hence, The Car is 185m away from me.
