1st to convert the speed to basic SI unit =>80kmph=80×(5/18) m/s=(200/9)m/s. Reaction time is the time between the gap of reflex action moving the vehicle at constant speed in 0.6 s it travels=(200/9)×0.6=120/9=(40/3) m=13.33m.By applying brakes producing retardation(-6.2)m/s².Breaking distance

=>s=u²/(2a)={(200/9)²/(2×6.2)}=39.84m.Shut down distance=13.33+39.84=53.17m.Ans.
