- Car is moving A to B with the speed of 60km/h
- Returns back from B to A with the speed of 40km/h
Let :
The distance from A To B be x
So, Total distance covered by car From A to B and also returns back from B to A = 2x
Let the time taken from A to B be T1 and from B to A be T2
- Speed = Distance/time
- distance = speed × time
- Time = Distance/speed
Time taken to covered by car from A to B :
= x/60
Time taken to covered by car from B to A :
= x/40
Total Time = x/60 + x/40
= (40x + 60x)/60 × 40
= 100x/60 × 40
= x/24
Average speed = Total distance/Total time
A.V = 2x/(x/24)
A.V = 2x × 24/x
A.V = 2 × 24
Average speed = 48km/h
