A car is moving at 72 km/hr when passing one lamp-post and
36 km/hr when passing the other. Two lamp-posts are 75 metres
apart. If the retardation is uniform, find how much further will it
travel before coming to rest. How long after passing the first
lamp-post will the car be moving?

Answer:

Here is it

Step-by-step explanation:

Using V^2= U^2 + 2as ( you said that retardation is constant). Convert them into m/s( speed)

You will get a = -1.5m/s^2

Now to find distance travelled before v=0 again use the same formula. ( am finding total distance travelled from inital=10m/s)

s= 33.3m

Now to find time, use v=u + at.

t= 6.6 seconds
