Given:

Equation of distance w.r.t. time = 2t²-4t

To find:

Instantaneous velocity at time = 3 sec

Solution:

Since velocity is the differential form of distance, so we will differentiate the equation to get velocity of the car:

v = dS/dt

Since, the equation of distance is given as  2t²-4t:

v = 2t²-4t/ dt

v = 4t - 4

Putting the value of time = 3 sec

v = 4*3 - 3

v = 9 m/s

Therefore the instantaneous velocity at time= 3 sec will be 9 m/s.
