Answer: u= 0 m/s

a= 2 m/s²

t= 5 seconds

v=u + at

v= 0 + 2x 5

v= 10 m/s

v²-u²= 2as

(10)²- 0²= 2 x 2 x s

100= 4s

s= 100/4= 25 m.

Hope it helps!!!

Solution :-

As per the given data ,

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s ( rest )
  • Acceleration (a) = 2 m /s

We need to find the distance traveled by the car in 5 th second

As per the formula ,

⇒ S = u + a (2n-1) / 2

here ,

  • S = distance
  • u = initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • n = time

Now let's substitute the given values in the above formula ,

⇒ S = 0 + 2 ( 2 x 5 - 1) / 2

⇒ S = 10 - 1

⇒ S = 9 m

The car traveled 9m in the 5 th second

Other formulas :-

First equation of motion ,

v = u + at

Second equation of motion ,

s = ut + at² / 2

Third equation of motion ,

v² = u² + 2as
