Given :–

  • Average speed = 50 km/hr.

To Find :–

  • Distance covered in 12 mins.

Solution :–

Given,

• Speed = 50 km/hr

• Time = 12 mins

We know that,

Distance = Speed × Time

 \dfrac{50 \: km}{60 \:  \cancel{mins}}  \times 12 \:  \cancel{mins}

 \dfrac{5 \cancel0}{6 \cancel0}  \times 12 \: km

 \dfrac{5}{ \cancel6}  \times  \cancel{12} \: km

Cut the denominator (6) and the number 12 by 6,

 \dfrac{5}{1}  \times 2 \: km

5 \times 2 \: km

10 \: km

Hence,

Distance covered in 12 mins is 10 km.

Three formulas of speed, distance and time :-

1. Speed =  \dfrac{Distance}{Time}

2. Distance = Speed × Time

3. Time =  \dfrac{Distance}{Speed}
