A car is situated 30 cm from a convex mirror of focal length 3.0 M. Find the position, natur and magnification of the image formed. What is the use of such a mirror

Given,

u = -30cm or and focal length f = 300cm

Now,

From mirror formula

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

=> 1/v = 1/f - 1/u

=> 1/v = 1/3 + 1/300

=> 1/v = 100+1/300

=> v = 300/101

=> v = 2.97 ≈ 3 (approx)

So, car is 3cm from the mirror .

Now, magnification of image

m = -v/u

= 3/30

= 0.1
