Explanation:

initial velocity(u) = 0m/s

distance(s) = 1000m

acceleration(a) = 0.5m/s^2

final velocity = ?

using the 3rd equation

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

v^2 = 0 +2(0.5)(1000)

v^2 = 1000

v = 10\sqrt{10} = 31.62 m/s
